I claim this mouth in the name of Incisor!

David has a tooth! If you look closely at his mouth you can see it poking out. You can definitely feel it! While it is another milestone we have reached, I can't say that I am super excited about it because he was just starting to sleep better and now he has regressed, again.

And now for my shameless plug of the day: Baby Anbesol is AWESOME! I chose this one because it was grape flavored and David seemed to really like it. I decided to give it a try when he woke up for the second time in two hours. I rubbed it on his gums, stuck the pacifier back into his mouth and turned on his Ocean Wonders Aquarium (another shameless plug - but it's a MUST HAVE) and he was out like a light...well until he woke up again three hours later.
Speaking of waking babies; today marks the 175th straight day since I have had a full night sleep. It is finally starting to take a toll on me. For example I walked out the door this morning with my lunch on the kitchen counter and without David's diaper bag and bottles for daycare. Super!

Thank goodness the Doc was home because I was already running late and needed to catch my train. Needless to say he was less than thrilled that I woke him up so that he could drive over to the daycare to drop off David's bag.

David's new thing is to make funny faces. He loves to stick out his tongue and move it around to feel his new tooth. But his newest trick is standing up while holding onto something. He's not really that good yet but he will stand up against the table or his exersaucer for a while before his legs give out and he slides down on his bottom!

He is also better at sitting. The next step will be for him to do these on his own without us helping him but that could be a problem though since he HATES tummy time and likes to be carried around by Daddy while Mommy cooks dinner. That's our spoiled little brat!

Next stop...Veggies!

David and Maddie's Weekend Adventure

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingMs. M, Benny and Robyn came to visit us this past weekend. Maddie and David met once before but this was the first time that they have been able to interact. David was a very good boy and shared his toys with Maddie. She is a pro at the jumparoo! David saw that she was sitting up and scooting around the floor that it motivated him to try it out. He will sit up for a while but if he gets excited and moves then he loses his balance.

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingThis is David and Maddie on Saturday afternoon after our trip to Center City for lunch at the Reading Terminal. We have been in Philadelphia for over a year and a half and had never been over there. I ate lunch at Carmen's Famous Hoagies and had the BEST Italian hoagie EVER! They have different food places, fresh meats and fish and fruits and veggies. It is like and indoor farmers market. It was really cool and we had a good time hanging out. It was NOT fun however, walking to and from the parking garage as it was low 30's but with a wind chill that made it feel in the teens. Downtown Philadelphia is like one giant wind tunnel.

For dinner we decided to try out Nifty Fifty's (home of the Worlds Largest Soda Fountain). The fries were so good. I would go back just for the fries. Benny enjoyed his Chocolate Cherry Cola and Robyn and the Doc enjoyed their milkshakes. It's a really fun place to take kids to, there is mini golf (in the warmer weather) and an arcade on site.

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingOn Sunday David and Maddie got ready for the big game against the Colts. We all thought for sure that it was going to be a happy ending after the first half but then we had to put the kids to bed and the team fell apart. The Doc was half serious when he told me to wake David up and bring him back downstairs! I suppose it is Uncle David's turn to be happy for once! GO BEARS!
DA BEARS, DA BEARS, DA BEARS, DA BEARS, DA BEARS....

Other than that it was a great weekend and we can't wait to bring David to DC to and then Maddie can show David around her neck of the woods!

Company, Sleep Deprivation & The First Snow:

David Toes (1)
Today in Philadelphia we had the first snow of what is finally the winter season. Nothing to speak of and it didn't even accumulate but it was the kind of snow that makes you want to go outside and spin around and around while sticking your tongue out Charlie Brown style. The snowflakes were big and fluffy - it was so pretty. I was so happy and then my supervisor so nicely reminded me that it was my baby's first snow and instead of sharing it with me - he was sharing it with the teachers at his daycare. Hopefully there will be a next time. I LOVE snow!

The reason I haven't posted all week is because the Doc and I have been trying to organize and clean our house. Yes, it takes that long. We're lazy what can I say. We are cleaning because we are having a very special visitor this weekend. Ms. M and her parents are coming for the weekend!! Too bad it decided to be winter for this weekend. Last weekend it was still in the 50's...Oh well.

Last I wanted to talk about the family sleep deprivation. The Doc's sleep deprivation comes from having one day off since Christmas and switching from days to nights to taking call because someone called out and he got called in. His body is so messed up he can't fall asleep at night. My sleep deprivation is from a baby who STILL refuses to sleep through the night. This can't go on forever can it?! He was doing better but this past week he's been sore because there is a tooth that looks like it's going to show itself any day now...guess I can't fault him for teething.

As far as the above picture...well that is the only recent picture I have that hasn't been posted. We took it the other day when he was being a goober before his tubby time. For some strange reason he loves to be naked and his new thing is his feet. He likes to grab them, kick them and stand on them. It's especially fun when he is in his crib and you hear him kicking his feet into the railing. Bang, bang, bang...at 5am! Super!

Happy Birthday Princess of Power:

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingToday is my sisters birthday and of course I have to add a picture from back in the day. I am not sure how old she is in this picture but it was taken at a halloween party. I am so lovin' the 80's style plastic costume. Guess she didn't want to wear the plastic mask that came with it. So happy birthday lil sis!

It only took 5 months...

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingBut here is David LOVIN' tubby time! Today David is 5 Months old. I can't believe it has already been five months. Up until this morning David and tubby time have not been the best of friends. He has never been a fan of the water. However, when I put him in the tub this morning he didn't cry. Instead he did something I have never seen him do in the tub - he gave me the biggest smile!

I thought for sure it was a fluke but I ran into the next room to get the camera anyway and he just kept on grinning! Without this picture there was no way that the Doc would believe that he enjoyed his tubby this morning. Of course I am not holding my breath that the next time he'll be just as happy because old habits die hard.

Here is a look back at David's tubby time pictures from the last 5 months:

David loves tubby time: January 9, 2007

It's been an interesting five months. For the most part David is a very happy boy! He is even happy in tubby time (maybe!). He rolls over by himself, he is eating solid foods and babbles non-stop. Our favorite thing he does is when we say "Hi" he tries to make the same noise. If we say "Good Morning David" he says Goo. He loves to stand in his exersaucer and he even likes to entertain himself on his play mat. Now if only we can get him to sleep through the night...

It's no Cap'n Crunch:

On Tuesday David will be 5 months old. That means it is time to start solid foods! Per his pediatricians schedule we will start off with Rice Cereal for a week, then add Oatmeal for a week and then Barley. Now doesn't that sound delicious!

On Saturday David sat in his brand new high chair, put on his first bib (Patriots of course) and ate his first bowl of Rice Cereal. I am not sure that he loved it but he did love the funny noises I made as I moved the spoon closer to his mouth. He did much better today - probably because he was ready for some football!

As game time approached we changed into our new Patriots gear (from Steph). David wore his new Patriots T-Shirt that says "Born into it - Pats Fan 4 Life!" and the Doc and I wore our new Bruschi T-Shirts!

It was an awesome game! They played well on both sides of the ball. I would've liked to see the Rush Defense play a little better considering they have to go to San Diego next week and defend Tomlinson. David enjoyed watching the Doc and I celebrate especially when the Asante Samuel ran in a pick for a TD. He laughed at us as we danced around the living room. When I asked David to give me a high five - he just looked at me and gave me a big smile. I said that'll do David, that'll do!

In the end it was a perfect day. And if only the Doc wasn't called in for Jeopardy on Saturday it would've been a perfect weekend. David is growing up so fast and getting so big. The way he has been eating lately we're going to have change his nickname from Peanut to Little Piggy.

Waiting for My Real Life to Begin:

Anyone who knows me - will know that my most favorite show in TV is Scrubs. It has been syndicated on Comedy Central weeknights at 7 and 7:30 and recently my second favorite episode was on. I found the end bit on YouTube and thought I would share.

For those of you that do not watch the show (1) WTF is wrong with you and (2) this is from season 2 and the episode is entitled My Philosophy. J.D's patient Elaine is waiting for a transplant and at one point he asks her what she thinks death is like. She says "I really hope it's like a big Broadway musical. Everyone's all dressed up and singing to the rafters, and you go out with a real flourish".

So Long Swing:

Exersaucer
Thanks to his Grammy and Papa, we have retired the swing and upgraded to the Exersaucer! It's really handy especially when we need to put him down, not to mention it doesn't take up as much space. His feet just reach the bottom so he turns himself by pulling on the toys! It's really cute!
