Kick Off to Summer!

Everyone loves a long weekend! But Memorial Day Weekend, in particular, means that the summer season has officially started! The weather certainly helped give this weekend a summer feel and so we spent some time at the beach! Our first official trip to the beach was on Thursday! It wasn't Evan's first time at the beach but it was his first time at the beach being mobile! He enjoyed the playing in the sand and sitting down by the water.

On Sunday the boys all dug a really big hole and David perfected his sand castle making skills, learning how to gently pull up the bucket so that the sand keeps the shape!

Life at the beach is so relaxing and I am surely going to miss being so close. Nothing can compare to the sounds and smells of the ocean.

And thanks to Auntie Kristin, Charlie and I were able to go out on Sunday night to celebrate his birthday (which is today!) with dinner and a movie! We had dinner at BonChon Chicken, a Korean place over in Allston. The fried chicken was so crispy without feeling heavy and the rice was some of the best I have had! I would definitely recommend this place! Then it was off to see the Hangover II. It was funny and we had a great time being out just the two of us! Now that Evan is a older and less needy, I look forward to making date nights more of a regular thing!!

No More Relaxing at the Park

Yesterday afternoon we took the boys to the park and Evan has decided that he wants to do what his older brothers are doing. He LOVES going down the slide, but yesterday we found out he also likes to CLIMB UP the slide! Sigh! I don't know what I am going to do with this kid. He's by far my biggest trouble maker of the three! My days of relaxing at the park while the boys play are over, at least for this year!!

Taking Steps!

Evan has been crusing for what seems like forever, so I thought for sure he was going to walk earlier than his brothers did. Nope! He's been perfectly content to keep on cruising and sometimes maybe walking side by side holding onto my hand. But last Tuesday he took about FIVE steps all on his own! And then he face planted, but I was still so proud! Fast forward a week and he has been getting more confident and taking more and more steps! Not enough to be called an "official" walker yet but he'll be there very soon! In fact today he was cruising along the couch and then he let go and started to walk towards me!!

Another Shorty

Monday was Evan's one year well check! He's an average weight but still a shorty (and in fact the shortest of the three), his oldest brother David was 1/2 inch taller!! So far Shaun is looking to be the tallest of the bunch (consistently in the 50th percentile)

Other than falling below average in the height department; he is in tip top shape and even starting taking some steps on his own. I wouldn't be surprised to see him officially walking very soon! He still needs to work on his balance.

Height: 29 inches (19th percentile)
Weight: 22.6 pounds (43rd percentile)

Evan doing what Evan does best!

Mmmmm....Ramen noodles!

Size EIGHTS!

It's been a while since I blogged about weight loss journey. I haven't had much to report since my last post. I have been fluctuating a bit; getting as low as 146.2 three weeks ago; and even a bit over my start 148.1 last week. The past Friday I was back down to 147.5. While my weight loss has stalled (for the time being anyway) I know that I am doing something right because I can officially say that I am now a SIZE 8!

The older two boys went away for the weekend with their Omi and so I took advantage of only having Evan to do some shopping. I can normally shop with all three but it's not as easy or as fun for that matter. I was able to try stuff on and it was nice to try on styles I never felt comfortable in before this journey! I even bought a super cute dress that I can't wait to wear at the Doc's End of Fellowship dinner!

So I am still plugging along; still running hard; just not having as much to report as I get closer to my goal!

My lowest weight three weeks ago:

5/6 Weigh In:

It's hard to believe that this was me a year ago. Granted I had just had a baby a week before this picture was taken; but I have come such a long way since then and I am really proud of myself and the hard work I have done to be so close to my goal!!!

Happy FIRST Birthday Evan!

At 1am this morning our last baby officially turned the big O-N-E! Keeping up with the same traditions I have also put together a video montage of Evan's first year! The end is my favorite part! It shows off Evan's personality at it's best.

He has grown so much even in the last few months. He's parroting lots of sounds, "sings" and dances and is SO close to walking on his own. He's been cruising along furniture for a while now and can even walk side by side holding on with one hand. It's just as soon as you let go, he sits his butt down and crawls. Lazy little nugget! He is such a sweet little man and gives out the best hugs ever! He is truly the "baby" in ever sense of the word. In fact I was telling everyone how "babyish" he seems still to me. I feel like David and Shaun seemed "bigger" at one than Evan and I wonder how much of that has to do with the fact that he is my last one to hit these milestones.

Here's the Birthday Boy (who I couldn't get to sit still for five seconds) All pictures today were on the go!

It's my Birthday and I don't have to smile if I don't want to!!

OK Mommy, I'll smile, but just this once!
