365 ~ 2013: Day 149

Tonight was the Spring Fling at the boys school.  I was so busy working during the event that I never made it out to the Kona Ice truck for a slush...so I made do when I got home with this grown-up version!  I also didn't have a chance to take any pictures of the event so this is now my picture of the day.

365 ~ 2013: Day 148

Lunch date today with two of the three younglings.  I had to make a food run at BJ's today for the schools Spring Fling and they have been such big helpers that I decided to treat them to a little lunch at one of our favorite places.  Shaun was very excited to get a pancake for lunch today!

365 ~ 2013: Day 144

Rock Band parade around the kitchen into the dinning room...thankfully it only lasted a few times around.  That's when the grown ups broke out the cupcakes and they became very quiet, very quickly!

365 ~ 2013: Day 143

David had his first after school play date and I have lived to tell about it!  Up until today all the play dates my boys have had have either been at the friends house, or at our house but with the parents present.  David's friend rode the bus home with him and they played all afternoon.  They played so nicely together and even Shaun had fun playing with David's friend and I was very proud of both boys for making sure he was included in their shenanigans!

Someone was caught steeling some veggies before dinner tonight...and it kind of makes me happy!

365 ~ 2013: Day 142

Today David's class (along with another 1st grade class) ran the school wide meeting they have every month.  The theme was Respect For Differences and they sang and danced to What I Am by Will.I.Am.  The principal talked about how everyone is different and special in their own way and asked how the students could show respect for other peoples differences.  It was really fun seeing to whole school get together like this!

365 ~ 2013: Day 141

Making progress to our landscape!  I'm happy to report that the red maple survived the move to it's new home (away from the front of the house)!  Moving the tree left a big hole in our front but our plan is to reduce the size of the garden and make most of it grass.  I'm not very much into gardening and while I love pretty flowers, I want flowers that are super low maintenance and in a smaller space so I'm not spending hours upon hours weeding!  Our plan is to figure out a new design when we get ready to redo the walkway.  The corner near where the garage connects to the house (that was filled in by the tree) definitely needs some kind of shrub, I'm just not sure what it will be!

I also picked up my hanging baskets today.  They are big and they are gorgeous and I love them.  And you can't see it well in the picture but I had purchased, through a PTA fundraiser, the boys artwork on garden flags, and finally got them put out after picking up something to display them on.  David and Shaun were pretty excited to see their drawings on display in the yard!

365 ~ 2013: Day 138

4 Generations

Visiting Cape Cod

Today after baseball we headed down to the Cape for a cookout.  The boys got to see their Nana and Great Aunts and Uncle and of course Casey the dog!  After eating we did some family portraits and then headed to the beach.  The water was surprisingly warm, but the wind made it feel very cold down at the beach.  The kids had fun though and because it is before Memorial Day we got to take Casey with us!

365 ~ 2013: Day 136

Slowly but surely, we are starting to see some growth in the back.  I still think it will be at least a month before we can safely walk out there without sinking, but it's nice to see that hue of green!  Now, on to phase 2 of the backyard remodel!  Tonight we got the initial plans for our 3 season porch, master bedroom balcony and deck remodel!  It's exciting to see this all starting to come together!

Evan Michael ~ 3.0

12 days ago, on May 1st (in the wee hours of the morning) our littlest guy turned 3!  This kid has some serious personality.  It's been a hoot watching him over the last year.  He's our most stubborn out of the 3 children, making me a master negotiator these days.  In fact, Kevin Spacey's got nothing on me!

He's so outgoing and friendly and will make friends with everyone and anyone no matter where we are, especially if your a grown-up.  He's already got the principal and many teachers at his brother's school wrapped around his finger.  He loves the attention he gets and he loves to put on shows for everyone.  He's been very verbal from an early age and hasn't stopped since.  If he's not talking he is singing.

Evan has a way to make you laugh even in the most serious moments.  I will never forget the day I was talking to him on the stairs about something naughty he had done.  In mid sentence he took his fat little finger and BEEPED me on the nose!  I couldn't help it, I busted out laughing.

He'll start preschool in the fall and he is very excited!  He'll have the same teacher that Shaun had this year and she has already made him an attendance card so he can practice when we drop Shaun off in the morning.  He loves being a "bigger boy" as he tells us and based on his growth chart percentiles  he's definitely a "bigger" boy!  Evan at his THREE year check up is a half inch taller than David was at his FOUR year check up!

Height: 39.5 inches (89th percentile)
Weight: 36.6 lbs (89th percentile)

Suitcase packed, ready to have a sleepover with Auntie!

Happy Mother's Day!

Today we celebrated Mother's Day with our second annual Mother's Day brunch!  This years menu included, make your own waffle bar, french toast bake, fruit salad, pancakes, hash browns, eggs, bacon and sausage as well as some muffins.  It was delicious and it's always nice to be able to spend time with our families all together!

The Brunch Spread
Uncle David got all the kids with the whipped cream!
After brunch we had a family Dance Off on Just Dance 4 for the kinect.  Looks like Uncle John was the big winner of the day, but rumor has that since he plays all the time, he's memorized all the moves!

365 ~ 2013: Day 130

Evan Michael - big boy swimmer!  He's already doing really well, I was especially nervous that he wouldn't listen to his teacher but for the most part he sits on the stairs where he is supposed to and waits patiently for his turn!
