Maddie's First Birthday!
Saturday we helped Maddie celebrate her first birthday! It was a fabulous day - perfect weather for a first birthday celebration! On Sunday we spent the day with Ben, Robyn, Maddie and her Nonni and Papa. We took a train ride, rode the Merry-Go-Round and enjoyed the rest of the cookout leftovers! It was a gogreous weekend and we were so glad to be there for Maddie's special day! Check out the slide show of pictures from the weekend!
Just Keep Swimming!

8 Months & Some New "Tricks"
First of all we hope everyone had a Happy Easter. The Doc had to work in the morning and by the night he was sick. Awesome! Since he had to work we missed out on seeing the family. But they made sure I got to see the pictures. Here are some pictures of the kids in their Easter gear:
Scottie, Savanah & Cohen
The whole gang (minus us of course)
Since this was David's first Easter and even though he is only 8 months old I still had to begin the traditions. So Saturday night David and I (well mostly me) colored some eggs.
And of course the Easter Bunny wouldn't forget about David so he made a stop to our house in Philly. Check out what he left for David. Even though he only has two teeth and a third on the way it didn't stop him from trying to eat the Cadbury Creme Eggs the Easter Bunny left. I am pretty sure the Easter Bunny left those for Mommy and Daddy!
He was just as excited about the new toy and stuffed rabbit that the Easter Bunny brought!
So today David is 8 months Old. I am really impressed by how fast the time is going. I mean a week from Saturday Maddie is going to be one!! We can't wait to help her celebrate her special day! And soon it will be David's day! He is getting so big so fast. Just in the the last month we have had a lot of new "firsts" for David like swimming and trying Ritz crackers as we showed in the last post. Here are some more pictures of David's "firsts":
Eating Beef!
David's first shower. I am sure it's what prepared him for the pool!
Trying some ham!
Riding in the shopping cart like a big boy!
Trying a piece of Mommy's cheese quesadilla...Mmmm!
Trying a Lemon (that was all Daddy's idea)
And of course as always showing off just how cute he really is:
Check out that winning smile!
And don't get sprayed by the raspberry!
Hope you enjoyed David's 8 month update and we hope to see you all soon!

Cherry Blossom's and Swim Class
Yesterday the Doc and I took David for his first trip to DC. We went to visit with Ben & Maddie (Robyn had to work). It was the first day of the Cherry Blossom festival and last year we missed the blossom's by TWO days. This year we made it! You couldn't have asked for a better day. It was so beautiful.
The drive in was OK but as soon as we arrived in DC it was a zoo. It was so crowded we couldn't even find parking. Ben and Charlie even got into an altercation with a very irate tourist after supposedly taking the parking spot he'd been waiting 30 minutes for.
We met up with some of Ben's college friends who also live in the area and walked around the tidal basin. David was happy to see his friend Maddie again. We took some pictures and enjoyed the sun while it lasted. David was less than cooperative for our family portrait in front of the Cherry Blossom's so this was the best shot we got. He was too interested in the water.
After the walk around the tidal basin we headed back over towards the National Mall and over towards the Washington Monument. We decided to relax and watch the kite flyers. Ben gave David some Ritz crackers to try. He loved them!
It is also the first time David has been outside in the grass. It was so cute to see him try to grab it!
The Doc became a human jungle gym for Maddie. She loves to climb!
All of us enjoying the different kites.
It started to get cold so we called it a day and headed back to Ben's. We met up with more of his friends who live in the area and enjoyed some shish kabobs on the grill. David met some new friends - two boys David's age. He was by far the runt of the crew! We also realized too late that David got a nice little sunburn on his face. Guess it's time to invest in some baby sunscreen. He'll be OK - he just looks a little red! If only Maddie let him wear her hat a little longer!
After a long day you would think that the kids would've been too tuckered out to wake up early - but nope they were up bright and early.
At 10am David and I joined Maddie and Ben at their Sunday morning swim class. Robyn had found some swim shorts sized 18 months. They were HUGE on him but it was better than nothing! It was a lot of fun and David seemed to enjoy his time in the pool. He was a little unsure at first but eventually he splashed around. Since it was his usually nap time he ended up a little cranky at the end but overall it was wicked fun!
