12M ~ December 2020

Merry Christmas from our family to yours! 🎅  Quieter than usual but we made the most of our morning! 🥰

Good morning and Merry Christmas to me! 😆🥂🎅

The annual scavenger hunt was a giant blow up Santa for the yard.  I don't know why David wanted this so badly, but he did. 😂

The cats love their new kitty hammocks!

Evan was very excited to get his own pair of snow shoes!

Dad came through (with the help of a friend) to be the Christmas hero for all of them!

For anyone who loves Friends as much as we do!

Merry Christmas!

Tried out the Winnipesaukee River Rail Trail today! Nice views along the way. Not well marked once you get into Tilton but otherwise a fun ride! 🚴‍♀️ @ Winnipesaukee River Trail Association.

Day 29: A song you remember from your childhood!

The Cranberries defined my adolescence, but Madonna defined my childhood.  I legit preformed many concerts in front of my bedroom mirror (with the classic hairbrush microphone) and this song was my encore!  True Blue and Like a Prayer were my favorite albums from my childhood (which I defined as ages 5 to 10 (because I used 11 and 12 as the "pre-teen years in an earlier category).

Since we could not get together on Mother's Day, my sister brought my mom up for a social distancing visit.  We ordered breakfast from Tucker's and I did my mom's Color Street nails for her.

Socially distant belated Mother's Day picture taken by Evan.

Charlie took Shaun and David for a bike ride out of our neighborhood and onto the main road.  They both did great.  He sent me this selfie!  I love when he thinks to do this! 🥰

Remy has the right idea!

12M ~ May 2020

This was a hard one to narrow down because there are SO many choices and songs I love with names in the titles. Did you know there was a song by Toto called Pamela? The Beatles have Polythene Pam (but I don't think I look like a man!) too, so I could have just picked one of those and called it a day. 😆 And speaking of The Beatles, they alone have so many great ones, (Dear Prudence, Penny Lane, Hey Jude, Lady Madonna, Martha My Dear, Rocky Raccoon), but I already did a Beatles song and while there is no reason I can't choose another one, I am trying to show off a variety of my musical tastes!  Other songs on my list, were Dear Jessie by Madonna, Jeremy by Pearl Jam, Romeo & Juliet by Dire Straits and Buddy Holly by Weezer.  I chose this song because it's just one of those quirky songs I remember from high school that brought me way back when I found it!  I couldn't believe I had forgotten this song but as soon as I listened I remember most of the words!  Haha!

Oh Remy! 🤦‍♀️ 😹

I have some flour now. 😬😆

Day 17: A song you'd sing a duet with someone on karaoke:

The Doc: He said pass. 🙄 There is no song that he would ever want to sing karaoke, let alone a duet. 🤦‍♀️😆 Also he knows I would want him to learn it so we could preform it together, even though I promised him he wouldn't ever have to again! 🤣
Me: Come What May - Nicole Kidman & Ewan McGregor from Moulin Rouge
David: One Last Time - Christopher Jackson & Lin-Manuel Miranda from Hamilton
Shaun: Don't Go Breaking My Heart - Elton John & Kiki Dee
Evan: Bumper Cars - Alex & Sierra

First of all, I would never turn down the opportunity to sing a duet at karaoke, no matter the song choice.  Evan's song is a new one we found that I love because their harmonies are so beautiful.  But this one is a favorite.  This song was the song that was our "last dance" at our wedding and one time on a car ride he humored me and sang Ewan's part, while I sang Nicole's.  He made sure it was very clear that it was a ONE and ONLY.  I love him for it and have honored his wishes to this day.  He hasn't had to sing with me again!
😂😂😂

Boot camp is back - although it's virtual - it's still better than nothing.  After working out on my porch I made pancakes for the boys using sourdough starter.  The batter sits overnight and gets all bubbly in the morning!  YUM!  I added blueberries to mine so they were "healthy".  Ha!

Bootcamp on my porch!

Mum! We haz pick tings up and put dem down. 💪🏻🏋️‍♂️

Bubbly pancake batter goodness!🥞

Blueberry sourdough pancakes!

It was so great to finally have such a nice day!  The kids swam a bit and I spent a good portion of the day sitting on my porch.  Evan the cat was living his best life "outside".  Our favorite local ice cream place opened up for the weekend for call ahead orders of ice cream so I placed my order in the morning and we picked it up after dinner.

Auggie loving the nice weather!

Day 12: A song from from the 70's!

The Doc: Surrender - Cheap Trick
Me: Imagine - John Lennon
David: September - Earth, Wind & Fire
Shaun: Stayin' Alive - Bee Gees
Evan: Don't Go Breaking My Heart - Elton John ft. Kiki Dee

This was probably the easiest choice for me yet. Song writing today isn't what it used to be.

April Homecation:

Now that is more like it! 🌞 Too bad it doesn't last. Rain again tomorrow and Friday. ☔😒

12M ~ April 2020

A friend posted this 30 song challenge and I decided that it would be fun to play along and get the whole family involved.  Music definitely helps me keep calm and less stressed so it will be fun to think about songs based on the theme of the day.

Day 1: A song you like with a color in the title!

The Doc: Black Star by Radiohead
Me: The Song of Purple Summer from Spring Awakening
David: Back in Black by AC/DC
Shaun: Mr. Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra
Evan: Blue (Da Ba Dee) by Eiffel 65

Homeschooling Day 20: Evan and Momma ~ Google meet selfie! It was special guest day for Evan's class meet and Evan invited me to join him! So fun!!

Homeschooling Day 15: Everyday is pet day when you're doing school at home, but today Evan had a virtual pet day with his whole class! 😻

It's Whiskey Friday! 🥃 Charlie opted for Knob Creek neat and I stuck with my new favorite, the Moroccan Old Fashioned, minus the orange peel (I didn't have one)! Sometimes you just gotta work with what you got! Cheers!

Homeschooling Day 14: Art Education. As someone who is musical and not very artistic, I admit, art is not usually on the forefront of my homeschooling duties. 😳 But I had Evan check in to see what he should be working on today and I found him drawing this dragon. I have to say, I'm impressed. He did that from a video tutorial. 😃

Homeschooling Day 14: Helpful tutor or fluffy distraction? 😹😹

In "I can't believe this is real life" news...I have successfully created a sourdough starter!! I can't believe how much this excites me, but this is what happens when one cannot go in to the out. And apparently it's tradition for sourdough bakers to name their starters, and because I don't want bad juju, I would like to introduce you to my sourdough starter: A Starter Has No Name!
