Last night was my first meeting as Chair of the Instructional Committee for the Concord School Board! It was a very informative meeting on Competency Education and I encourage anyone local to check it out!

Seems like the snow we were expecting back home stayed in Lake Placid! We woke up to massive snow banks and frigid temps! The plans to Bobsled were cancelled due to the weather so we decided to take advantage of the above zero temps in the morning to walk around, tour the Olympic museum, have lunch downtown and try the toboggan sleds. By the time we got to the toboggan the temps dropped and the wind picked up significantly. We decided to head back to the house and warm up before heading back out for the group dinner to celebrate our friend!

Yesterday we headed north west to Lake Placid to celebrate a college friends 40th birthday! Part of the trip was a day of skiing at Whiteface Mountain. It was a balmy -1 outside, but thankfully it wasn't windy or it could have been a lot worse! The kids were all troopers!

During the last run of the day, on an icy black diamond David was taken out by a runaway skier. Here he is showing off his battle wound!

That night we braved the cold to go see the Arial finals. It was such a cool experience seeing up close what these skiers can do on their skis.

The boys had a swim meet this afternoon. Santa brought them some towel robes to use during meets, but I guess he didn't realize how giant the large size would be!

During the swim meet, the Patriots game was on. We made it home in time for the second half and got to see them move on to the AFC Championship game! GO PATS!

Tonight we headed to a local bar for a school fundraiser. A couple of the teachers paired up to put on a show and pass around a fishbowl to raise money for field trips! The boys music teacher played with his band, and it was so fun to see him in a different musical venue! The school raised almost $800 and we all had a ton of fun! I'll take this kind of fundraiser over buying wrapping paper any day!

We started the process at the Orthodontist a year ago...he spent the last year in two different appliances (one to expand his palate (palatal expander) and the other one to work on his over bite (herbst applicance). Today they removed the palatal expander and added braces on his upper teeth! It's a work in progress. He has a lot of work that needs to be done.

Today was the first snow day of the school year. It was originally called as a 2-hour delay, but because it was a heavy wet snow with a mix of sleet and rain, they changed the call an hour later to a snow day! The boys did some sledding, watched a movie and relaxed in the hot tub! We finished the night off with another bag of our Hogwarts Lego set.
