Today Charlie ran the Covered Bridges Half Marathon for the third year in a row. This year it was HOT. David, Shaun and I got to the finish line at 8:50am and just sitting in the sun we started to melt. I cannot imagine how the runners felt! It was pretty obvious how awful the conditions were this year when the top runner, who was also the top runner last year, came in 3 minutes later than his last years time.
Despite the oppressive heat Charlie managed to only be behind his last years race time by 47 seconds! This year he ran the race in 1:25:48 coming in 11th out of 1980. He was beat crossing that finish line but despite the exhausting he still managed to get in a couple high fives to his biggest cheerleaders! If the conditions were better, he would have beaten his best time for sure. There is always next year!
