Halloween Fun 2016!

We love Halloween and dressing up!  It was a busy October with two big school events, but we still found some time to get the decorations up (even if it was a couple weeks later than normal) and we had a blast Trick or Treating with our friends.

Tapping in the Trick or Treat sign!
Our skeleton fence!
While shopping for their Halloween costumes, the boys had a little fun!

And it would not be Halloween without the traditional Halloween Portraits!

Zombie Hunter
Black Panther
Connor from Assassin's Creed

Trick or Treating was on a Monday this year, but we still invited friends to come to our neighborhood to join us.  We didn't make the whole loop, but they still walked away with tons of candy!

Ready to go!
The whole gang!

365 ~ 2016: Day 304

Who is that focused kid on the field?!  What a major surprise and we could not be more proud!  In between wiggling his butt on and off field (eye roll) he worked hard and showed he could be an aggressive soccer player.  He was kicking butt and taking names today, especially after he was shoved to the ground by a kid on the other team.  I can't say that I have ever seen him so fired up in a game before.  They lost in the end but I know he learned a ton this season and he had a ton of fun!

365 ~ 2016: Day 303

David running off the field in his last game of the Fall Ball seasons.  His team won their first game to advance to the quarterfinals but lost that game in a blow out.  I was proud of the season he had and I know he's going to be a better prepared ball player because of it!

Evan had a lot of fun this Fall playing soccer.  This was at his game last Saturday, he was playing against the other Mill Brook team.  He's learned a lot about the game and it was fun watch!

365 ~ 2016: Day 283

It is Race Day!! It's never rained on us before, but this year both of Charlie's races were in the rain.  But we grabbed our umbrellas and trekked the 1 1/2 to the finish line so that the boys could get their high fives from Dad as he runs through his 13th mile (since we cannot wait at the actual finish line here). I was able to have the results sent via text this year (since he didn't lose his bib this time!) so we know his official times. We'll find out later what he placed overall. He is usually in the top 100. Not his fastest Boston 1/2, but not too shabby for running in the pouring rain!

2016 Boston 1/2 Marathon Race Results:
5 mile: 31:06
10 mile: 1:02:20
Finish: 1:22:00

Shaun's favorite time of the day - before bedtime reading!  Last night I surprised him with the rest of the books in the Weirder School series that I had ordered through the school Book Fair, he couldn't wait until tonight so he could start the next book!

365 ~ 2016: Day 277

David has been playing in a baseball league this Fall and the age group is 10-12 year olds.  I think most of the kids are on the older side and he told me he's a little intimated at times.  He has never seen pitches come to him as fast as and hard before and it's been a challenge.  But he's definitely going to walk away from this league with a lot more experience.  He's starting to get a piece of the ball during his at bats and even hit the ball a few times.  He was thrown out both times, but making contact is a great start!

365 ~ 2016: Day 276

Shaun is getting better about making plays.  He was playing on defense and had the stopped the ball from going down the field.
