David - DOUBLE DIGITS

I don't know how this happened, but I'm the mother of a TEN year old!!  It seems like just yesterday the nurse was handing him to me all bundled up.  It's been a joy watching him grow into his own person.  He's becoming more independent and maybe a little too smart for his own good.  He even spent his first week away from home, 2 1/2 hours away at a the Sonatina Piano Camp in VT.

He has a variety of interests, but has started to hone in on his favorites, like giving up soccer for baseball.  He's really enjoying learning how to play different instruments and excited to delve into some colonial American history this year in school.   I can't wait to see what this year brings, his last year in elementary school.

David was spending the week at my parents camp, but we made plans to meet up for his birthday to do our annual trip with Grammy to FunSpot.  We finished the day with lunch at our tradiational stop, Hart's Turkey Farm and then stopped for a birthday treat at Jordan's Ice Cream (a place I'd been dying to try!).  I would say that we made TEN a very special day for David!

All the loot they won from winning so many bonuses.  They got to split a little over 10,000 tickets!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Ten year well check to get his stats!

Shaun is EIGHT!

I can't believe Shaun is EIGHT!  He's getting ready to "graduate" from his school and move on to the 3-5 school next door where his big brother goes.  The night before his birthday he got to pitch in his baseball game!  He normally would not have pitched, but he asked and his coach put him in to try it out.  He was on cloud 9!

On the mound!
He had a baseball game on his actual birthday too, so we grabbed a quick bite to eat with his uniform on and then headed out to his game!

Birthday Dinner Selfie!
He had a great game and here you can see him scoring a run!

After we got home we did gifts and I snapped a picture of my new turned Eight year old!

Gifts!

I am looking forward to seeing what his growth percentiles show when he has his appointment in September.  Since I had not scheduled it and they could not fit him in until then!  Oh well!

*Edited to add percentiles from 9/2/16*

Evan 6.0

I can't believe that Evan is SIX!  He is wrapping up his year in Kindergarten and last year home with me.  Next year he'll be in school all day, just like his brothers.  I'm both happy and sad about that!  Ha!

He is looking so grown up and I needed some spring pictures so I headed over to the studio to snap some, and it just so happened to be on his actual birthday.

After the studio we headed to the movies to see the Jungle Book in 3D!  And we finished off his birthday with a trip to his favorite restaurant!

3D Glasses
Ready for some birthday dinner!
A special birthday song and hat for Evan!
Birthday treat!
Then today he had his well check.  He's grown a lot since last year!  He did well with the eye test and so far doesn't have a need for glasses.
Getting taller!

Reading while we wait!

David 9.0

This handsome boy turned NINE at the beginning of the month.

Today was his well check and while he is still on the smaller side (compared to his brothers who are always on the bigger side), he is growing, happy and healthy!  Nothing wrong with that.  He did however, fail his eye chart test and is now officially being referred to the optometrist.  That appointment will not happen until October, so the jury is still out if he'll need glasses.

In less than a week he'll be starting FOURTH grade!  He's planning to add the cello to his repertoire this year and has really taken off in his piano.  For his birthday this year we got him a GoPro.  He's had fun making videos.  Now he just needs to sit down and try and learn how to edit those videos and create fun action movies.

Checking to see how tall!
Failing his eye chart test!  We'll be scheduling an eye exam very soon!

Not amused that his mother is snapping pictures at the doctors office!

Shaun is SEVEN!

A month ago, this handsome boy turned SEVEN and then finished his last week of first grade.  He is growing up, off to second grade in the fall.  He is smart, sweet and silly!  He never hesitates to tell you that he loves you and flash you his best smile!

The Birthday Boy!
His winning smile!
Since he has grown so much we surprised him by upgrading him to a bigger bike.  There was a bit of a learning curve at first, but now he is riding like a pro!

SEVEN!
Shaun was REALLY concentrating on his wish!
Today was his well check.  He's healthy and growing like a weed!  He had the doctor in stitches with his "old man" ramblings about things that had nothing to do with the questions she was asking!  But that is totally Shaun and one of the things we love about him!

Evan Turns FIVE!

Through pure coincidence, Evan celebrated his birthday in Florida during our recent trip to Disney and Universal Studios!  What a special way to turn FIVE!  On his actual birthday, we spent the day at Wet & Wild and when we got back we made some burgers and dogs on the grill.  All day he asked about a cake.  "It is my birthday and I'm supposed to have cake..." is all I heard all day.

We didn't tell him that we had already picked up an ice cream cake that morning and hid it in the freezer.  The look on his face in the picture below says it all!  He was so excited when we started to sing and he saw his cake!

A birthday cake surprise!
Best. Birthday. Ever!

Make a wish!
What a cake!
The cherry was his favorite part!

He got his birthday cake in Florida, but never had the chance to choose his special birthday meal.  So when we got back home he asked to have breakfast and he asked if he could have the waffle with ice cream!  The waitstaff even put a candle on top and came to sing to him.  It was really nice!

Birthday Boy!

Today Evan had his well check!  He is growing like a weed.  He is in the 90+ percentile for height and weight.  People always forget that up until recently he was only four!  He is mistaken for a kindergartner a lot when we are at the school.  It also has to do with how well spoken he is for his age.  He always has been.  He's still a man of the people and I worry that he'll run off with a stranger every time we are out.  I have really had to tell him that he should never go anywhere without telling me, even if he knows the person.  He's stubborn and opinionated and a born leader.  I cannot wait to see him next fall when he starts Kindergarten.

So tall!
Perfect vision (for now!)
Checking out the equipment and asking lots of questions!
