12M ~ June 2020

We're supposed to be in Paris right now. πŸ—ΌπŸ˜• So we're making the best of it with a morning of paddle boarding on the river! 🚣🌞

After a morning trip on the river, we decided to take advantage of needing a part for some electrical work we're having done out by our pool in Portsmouth and have dinner out there.  It was hot in the sun, but the view was amazing!

12M ~ June 2020

We're supposed to be in London.  Due to the coronavirus pandemic we had to postpone that trip, so we're having ourselves a socially distanced staycation.  Today's adventures were hiking in Crawford Notch.

During our remote learning, Evan chose The Willey Slide for his informational writing assignment.  He got the idea from our history buff friends and was excited to learn all about the mudslide that tragically ended the lives of the entire family and their two hired men. We decided to take a ride up to do some hiking and check out the spot where it all happened.

After checking out the site where the Willey's house once stood, we decided on a trail that would take us to a large water fall to hike, called Ripley Falls.  It was a good hike for the heat.  It was really getting hot outside and so we didn't want to be overexerting ourselves (or rather *I* didn't want to be overexerting myself!).  The water fall was really nice and the boys enjoyed climbing on the rocks and playing in the water.

After the hike we decided to find a place where we could grab some lunch.  It's hard to know if places have outdoor dinning (preferred due to COVID-19) or if they were even open.  The first place I thought would be good ended up being closed.  We found The Woodstock Inn Brewery and I'm so glad we did!  They had really nice outdoor seating, in the shade, so even though it was so hot outside it actually felt pretty comfortable.  The food was great and the Doc enjoyed his beer.  I look forward to going back again next time we're up in that area.  It was a great way to end the day!

My open faced meatloaf sandwich was DELICIOUS!

Look at those freckles!

52 Weeks ~ 2017: Week 6

Week 6 - weekly update includes Superbowl LI, another snow day, basketball games and a lip sync rehearsal!

Sunday February 5th

On Sunday we watched the greatest comeback in the history of Super Bowls!  It was EPIC and it was fun to be with friends while we watched them score the winning touchdown in the first ever overtime.

Hugging Baby Gronk for good luck in the 4th Quarter!
SUPERBOWL - WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

Tuesday February 7th

School was cancelled for the day (again!) and so we made the most of it.  The storm didn't really hit us until noon time, so that gave us some time in the morning to run a couple errands.  We picked up a the movie Trolls at Target and enjoyed a nice cozy afternoon, but not without a little outside time!

SNOW DAY!
Blue birds!
Strange visitors during a snowstorm!

Wednesday February 8th

Sometimes David can be a good big brother!  He was helping Evan do a homework page while I was getting ready to head out to my weekly school board budget work session.

Saturday February 11

Today was Evan's last basketball session.  He enjoyed it so much and I was really happy that the Concord High School team decided to collaborate with the Parks and Rec to come and mentor the young kids!   Evan scored a basket in his 2 on 2 scrimmage!

He scores!
Shaun also a basketball game and he scored his first basket!  He was so excited to use the skills he learned to get himself open and set up the shot!

Shaun's first basket!  He was so proud of himself!
After basketball, David and his lip sync group got together so we could block out the choreography! They are doing Yorktown (The World Turned Upside Down) from Hamilton.  We found some YouTube videos to help guide us and they did a great job!  I can't wait for the performance in a couple of weeks!

365 ~ 2016: Day 210

Yes I wanted the pool...but I didn't realized it would tern me into a pest removal specialist!

365 ~ 2016: Day 184

Birds Part 2: It's getting crowded again.  I was watching some fidgeting between 2 of the birds and the other bird looking unimpressed.  Finally he had enough!  I imagine he's thinking what my oldest child thinks when his younger brothers are all up in his space!

Birds: Round 2 - There are 3 more newly hatched babies in the nest.

365 ~ 2016: Day 149

And then there was one.

All the birds flew off this afternoon, but this guy stayed behind for a while.  When I came in after mowing the lawn (early evening), I came to find the nest empty.  This little guy had flown away too. I think that is the end of our bird watching adventures.
