Mother's Day 2016
Today we had our 5th Mother's Day Brunch! Everything was pretty crazy this year and like every year it seems, the Doc was on call. That wasn't going to stop me from having a delicious brunch, though this year I managed to keep it a simple. We did a waffle bar, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, and I made two overnight casseroles to save myself some time. One was a french toast casserole from Pioneer Woman (which was delicious!) and the second one was an Overnight Egg's Benedict casserole, both were delicious! I also made a raspberry coffee cake.
It so fun to get together with the family and even though it was a pretty cool and crummy day we all had a great time hanging out. The kids even managed to jump into the cold pool for 20 minutes. Then a massive wind/rain storm blew in and it got COLD!

Happy Mother's Day!
Today we celebrated our 4th annual Mother's Day Brunch! It was such a lovely day and I always enjoy the company. Not everyone was able to be here this year so we kept it much more simple. On the menu was scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, tator-tot hasbrowns, cherry morning rolls, and a make your own waffle bar with strawberries, blueberries, chocolate chips, whipped cream and vanilla ice cream!

Happy Easter!
Easter felt a little more like Winter this year than Spring but we still had a great day celebrating with our family! As we do every year, the boys spent some time the night before decorating some eggs. We decided to keep it very simple and stick with the cheap dye tablets, but they still had fun!
The boys woke up and saw their Easter treats! We love that the Easter Bunny thinks of mom and dad too and brings us a dark chocolate bunny and some truffles!
Charlie had to work for the morning so he was off and I left to start prep on all the yummy food. I got the big ham in the oven and then started working on some housekeeping before our family arrived! We had lots of yummy appetizers, Easter mojitos (made with marshmallow vodka and lemonade!), two kinds of ham (baked and spiral), a leg of lamb, spring peas in a bacon cream sauce, candied yams and mashed potatoes! Everything was delicious per usual!
After our delicious meal, it was time for the annual egg hunt. Unfortuantely because it was so wet out in the yard (and there was still quite a bit of snow!) we had to have the egg hunt indoors this year.
And no family event is complete without a family picture!
Or dessert!

The 3rd annual Mother's Day Brunch!
I love brunch! And nothing makes brunch more fun than spending it with family. Since we moved into the new house I have hosted brunch for Mother's Day at the house. We enjoyed french toast casserole, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, fruit salad, muffins and croissants! It was of course, all delicious!
