Homeschooling Day 7: School day? Or lazy Sunday? It's all just blending together. 😂ðŸĪŠ

I have no idea what is happening here...my cats are weird. ðŸ˜đ

12M ~ March 2020

Homeschooling Day 6: Science! Evan is learning about yeast and how it works to make our Amish Friendship Bread starter. And Shaun is building a "crazy contraption" for his science assignment.

It was an electric blanket and kitty snuggles kind of day. ðŸ˜ŧ☔ðŸĨķ

12M ~ March 2020

More purging and cleaning happened.  Today we cleaned out the storage room in the back of our closet.  We got rid of the baby changing table that has been collecting dust in that space since we moved in, but not without one last picture of David on it. It was the changing table that was a part of his nursery!

Whiskey Friday had to be moved to Whiskey Saturday on account of Charlie being on call last night. Coffee Old Fashioned for the win! ðŸĨƒ I will make some adjustments next time I make it though (as in it needs more bourbon 😂).

Homeschooling Day 5: Technology for the win! Evan got to virtually spend some time with his teacher and classmates this afternoon! 😊

Homeschooling Day 5: David made the Wicks Homeschool baseball team. ⚾😂 Go Cats Go! ðŸ˜đ

12M ~ March 2020

Homeschooling Day 4: Note to self: Evan will be tardy today. He has doctors appointment this morning. 😉 Good news is that he no longer needs the splint. We just need to keep them buddy taped.

Homeschooling Day 4: Auntie to the rescue. I swear if he says "I don't know how to do that" one more time... 🙄 Because he in fact DOES know how to do it. He just wants to be a pain in the butt. 🙄🙄🙄ðŸĨƒðŸĨƒðŸĨƒðŸĪĶ‍♀️ðŸĪĶ‍♀️ðŸĪĶ‍♀️

Just get the work done!
Kitty snuggles and zoom conferencing for Hearts for Kindness!

12M ~ March 2020

Also available to help sort laundry. ðŸ˜đ

Homeschooling Day 3: Whatever David. ðŸĪĶ‍♀️ As long as the work gets done.

Evan working on some science this morning.  It was an experiment on static electricity. You mix salt and pepper together, rub a plastic spoon on some cloth and place it over the mixture.  The static from the spoon lifts the pepper from the salt.

Homeschooling Day 3: PE with Dad. I make them run this loop every day. They were happy to have Dad home this afternoon to go with them!

Homeschooling Day 2: A little manual labor to get the blood flowing before "school". ❄️

Quarantine Kitty Snuggles
Homeschooling Day 2: Remy has it all under control. I'm happy to not be needed! ðŸ˜đ

Homeschooling Day 2: Special/Exploratory time - check! ☑️ They broke out their instruments today. Except Evan who can't play right now so he worked on an art project! I also started having them run/jog/walk the loop in the neighborhood every day as well as other movement challenges. We survived another day. On to tomorrow. 😂ðŸĪŠ

Saxaphone assignment
Evan can't play cello right now, so he's drawing instead

Homeschooling Day 1: I am tapping out. 😭ðŸĨƒðŸĪŠðŸ˜‚

Quarantine Kitty Snuggles
Homeschooling Day 1: Field trip! First stop on our tour was to the BGS parking lot where we dumped our bags of purged clothes and shoes to the ECO Bin. Not pictured was our next stop to dump all our plastic bags into the recycling bin at Shaw's. After that was a stop at the local transfer station where we pretend that all the recycling we dumped in the bin actually gets recycled. And last, we finished our trip with Frappuccinos at Starbucks.

Homeschooling Day 1: A Tale of Two Shauns. This morning got off to a very rough start (top picture). There was a meltdown of epic proportions (Shaun), followed by lots of swearing (me) that ended with both of us in our respective "take a break" spots. None of us like this new normal. We have no control over this situation or how long we're even going to be in it. And it's beyond frustrating. The bad attitude the tween had this morning certainly didn't help. After the "take a break", a come to Jesus talk, a long hug, a little exercise (to get the blood flowing), a field trip and a Frappuccino, we came to an understanding. And that brings us to the afternoon (bottom picture). There was a complete 180. The tween had an adjusted attitude and new respect for what we're all going through and I truly felt like we were going to be OK. And tonight, this mom (and reluctant homeschool teacher) earned her bourbon! ðŸĨƒ Tomorrow is another day.

Sweet, sweet, nectar of life! ðŸĨƒðŸ˜‚

12M ~ March 2020

Forget toilet paper (I stocked piled that before it was cool - thanks to Amazon subscribe and save and forgetting to skip shipments 😂)...I can't find flour anywhere! Apparently we all had the same quarantine idea to take up baking! Today I'm trying my hand at homemade bagels. Next on my list make a sourdough starter!

Homemade Bagels
I gave David my recipe for Chicken with Broccoli (a la Chinese takeout!) and had him follow the instructions and make us dinner tonight!  He's pretty good in the kitchen and so I think we'll make this a more regular thing!

The idea of homemade bagels was a hit, I need a different recipe.  These were pretty bland, but I have the time to perfect it!

12M ~ March 2020

The Doc is working this weekend, so we decided to take a drive to get some breakfast takeout from one of my favorite places.  I also grabbed some eggs since they were offering flats of eggs from their local vendor.  It was nice to go for a drive.

Later on David and I worked on some music together, I began cleaning out the office in case the Doc ends up needing to use it to work from home.  Instead of a movie tonight we began watching Season 1 of Parks and Rec - very funny and we all agreed that Ron Swanson is hilarious!

Quarantine Homeschool Phys Ed - 9Round style. Thankful that even though my gym had to close, they are able to offer home workouts. I am going to have the boys do them with me! ðŸĨŠðŸ’ŠðŸŧ

It's going to be important to keep myself motivated!
Google hangout with friends!
Quarantine movie - Zombieland: Double Tap

Friday night whiskey cocktails with my favorite quarantinee. I'm going to be a really good bar tender before this is over. ðŸĨƒðŸ˜‚ðŸĪŠ Lemoncello Whiskey Sours. Not my favorite but if you like sours this is an interesting take on it.

12M ~ March 2020

Took advantage of the rainy day to do some Quarantine Spring Cleaning. 8 loads of laundry, 2 1/2 purple trash bags, 2 big black trash bags filled with stuff for the BGS ECO Bin!

Same Cat, same!

You shall not pass!

I don't know what's happening anymore.
Movie tonight was Bad Boys, our selections are not going to be winning any parent of the year awards but the boys love Will Smith. 😎ðŸĪ·‍♀️

12M ~ March 2020

Day 3 of quarantine:

Before the shut down of the schools, I had scheduled an appointment to get my bangs trimmed and my hair glazed purple.  I kept my appointment because it would just be me and my stylist and they had not fully shut down the state.  I'm glad I kept it because it made me feel a little more normal.

I got back from my appointment and we hopped in the van to go pick up the boys remote learning packets and instruments from school.   The doc had a half day so we also grabbed some take out lunch.

The boys had started Avatar before lunch and so after lunch we finished the movie and then they went out to go for a run with the Doc, within 5 minutes I received a text that Evan fell and that I would need to take him to the Acute Care Clinic for an x-ray.

Before the fall

Evan's x-ray

He cracked the bone on his right pinky finger, they put it in a splint with an appointment for follow up in a week.
