2015 April Vacation - Orlando, Florida - Day 1:

Here we are again ready for the repeat of our trip from 2 years ago! This time we had a later flight so we did not have to get up at the butt crack of dawn to head to Logan. We were able to leisurely make our way for our afternoon flight and sure it meant we got in a little later, but we can't get access to the house until 3pm anyway it wasn't that big a deal. Not having to deal with the massive crowds of people flying out of Logan on the Saturday before NH school vacation week was so worth the later arrival time!

We fly JetBlue and the boys love getting their own TV to watch. The flight this year was much smoother. Last time David tossed his cookies during the second leg due to major turbulence! Was happy not to have a repeat of that! We had a layover at Washington National and had time to grab a quick bite to eat before boarding the next plane to Orlando!

The little kids were invited to check out the cockpit before upon boarding! They got a real kick out of it! I was already in my seat, so I was glad my brother was able to get these shots for me!

Finally we arrived in Orlando. We had to wait to get our rental (a 15 passenger van so we could all be together!) and then it was off to pick up some food and get to the house. Since we got in later the boys didn't have as much time to enjoy the pool before going to bed, but at least they got to jump in for a little bit, while some of us headed to Target to get supplies for the house. We were going to be full speed ahead on Sunday so there was no time to lose!

365 ~ 2015: Day 114

Our PTA brought in the Spain Brothers today to kick off April Vacation! They will be coming back in a couple weeks as our Artist in Residence. These guys are really great if you're school is looking for an Artist in Residence I cannot recommend these guys enough! David had the opportunity to work with them last year and wrote a song with his class. We still listen to the CD!

Shaun's first baseball practice (coach pitch level!) and while it felt more like winter than spring outside tonight, the kids all had fun and seemed to enjoy the new format.

First baseball game of the year! They lost 9 to 5 but they played really well. David walked, stole a base and scored a run!

David's 3rd grade concert! I'm glad I was able to catch the afternoon show so that I could make it to my class tonight. He had a small speaking role and he did such a great job. The kids all work really hard and it showed!

The boys had a blast spending the afternoon with Auntie Kristin and Uncle Erik at the LegoLand Discovery Center! Thanks for taking them off our hands for a little while so we could enjoy an early dinner date in the city!

Happy Easter!

Easter felt a little more like Winter this year than Spring but we still had a great day celebrating with our family! As we do every year, the boys spent some time the night before decorating some eggs. We decided to keep it very simple and stick with the cheap dye tablets, but they still had fun!

The boys woke up and saw their Easter treats! We love that the Easter Bunny thinks of mom and dad too and brings us a dark chocolate bunny and some truffles!

Charlie had to work for the morning so he was off and I left to start prep on all the yummy food. I got the big ham in the oven and then started working on some housekeeping before our family arrived! We had lots of yummy appetizers, Easter mojitos (made with marshmallow vodka and lemonade!), two kinds of ham (baked and spiral), a leg of lamb, spring peas in a bacon cream sauce, candied yams and mashed potatoes! Everything was delicious per usual!

After our delicious meal, it was time for the annual egg hunt. Unfortuantely because it was so wet out in the yard (and there was still quite a bit of snow!) we had to have the egg hunt indoors this year.
