C is for Cookie

link to this page So we americans are getting too fat. We are so fat that even cookie monster has to go on a diet. When will this ever end. There is even a song to go along with it. Apparently cookies are a 'sometimes' food. Hmmm...here's a thought... maybe if parents foreced their children to go outside and run around instead of playing x-box all afternoon poor cookie monster wouldn't have to suffer.

Like Oh My God - She's Having a Baby!!

I can't believe it! I'm like so excited right now! Britney Spears is really pregenant!! It's like only the coolest news since Brad and Jen! I just don't know how I would've gotten through the day if they didn't do a 10 minute story about it on GMA. Thank's Diane for filling me in. Becuase you know the rising fuel costs at the pumps isn't really that important.

A Bad Haircut:

Boys in the world wouldn't understand. This is definitely a girl thing. It has been a long time with the same look and it's time for something new. You find a picture in a magazine and think to yourself that you love that hairstyle and that is what I want my hair to look like. I don't know one girl who hasn't done it. You cut out the picture and schedule your appointment. The excitement is too much to take! In a couple of days you will look fabulous!

The day of the appointment arrives. You tell everyone you know that your getting your haircut. It's a great feeling to know that your going to be changing your blah hairstyle to something new. Your hair is washed and then the stylist starts to cut. Now this could be someone you've gone to many times or someone new (usually it is the latter situation) but they look at the picture and begin. You start seeing hair fall to the ground. A little nervous because maybe you're having second thoughts, it is after all a little drastic from your usual style. But you figure it looks fantastic in the picture it'll look fantastic on me!

The stylist is finished cutting now it's time to style, she blow dry's it and puts in some product you're watching in the mirror thinking - that's not what the picture looks like. Trying not to make faces because you don't want to give away your thoughts you smile and nod politely. All done the stylist turns you around and gives you a mirror so you can see the back. Holy Shit that is so not what I wanted you think to yourself. What have I done??!! You pay the lady and tip her well, because you will feel bad if you don't (or maybe you go there a lot or someone you know works there, etc.) and leave.

Some of us may cry, or scream or in my case stare blankly as I drive home sneaking glances in my rearview mirror. But when all is said and done it wasn't what you wanted and you HATE it. And despite the fact that your boyfriend/husband/friends all say how wonderful/nice you look - you know the real truth. You're UGLY!

This story was inspired by a conversation with Erica - We all feel your pain and thank god it will grow back!
The picture shown was my freshman year at college back in 1997 - some of you may remember well!

You and Me and Friendly's...all the live long day...

Oh my god...what a night.

CD and I get back from our run and decide to go out for dinner. We're both pretty tired and neither of us feel like cooking.
"Do you want to go to Molly's?" asks CD
"I don't know" I say "How about Friendly's then we can get free ice cream sundaes; besides there is always a long wait at Molly's."

So we venture off to Friendly's. We drive into the parking lot and the place is a zoo. We park and sit for a minute...
"Wow" I say, "There are a lot of cars, that probably means they are busy and probably will mean slow service. Do you want to stay?"
"Well we're here I mean what else would you want to do?" asked CD.

Well we didn't have anything else in mind and at that point being 6:40 most places were going to have a line. We decided to go in and check it out. No line and empty tables. We sit down right away. We know exactly what we want and we each order the new Honey BBQ Chicken Finger SuperMelt because the supermelts are what get you the free sundae. Our drinks come right away and she tells us she is going to put our order in - I'm thinking holy crap we're actaully going to get decent service from Friendly's tonight....guess what - I spoke too soon.

As a side note I should probably mention that even though we were able to sit down right away - the place was still a zoo and it was as if everyone who had kids decided to go to Friendly's. Now please don't take that as an I hate children kind of thing - becuase I don't it was just funny becuase it made Friendly's that much more frantic than usual and extra loud. But hey that is to be expected. So maybe 20 minutes later our food arives. CD was happy becuase she remembered about the Ranch Dressing. He hates condemnets and salad dressings. Sandwiches were really good. I was happy and CD was happy.

We sat there our sandwiches finished for another 10 minutes. Now we get free ice cream. We both ordered the new Owey Gooey Fudge Brownie Ice Cream me with Carmel and CD with Hot Fudge. About another 20 minutes later we get our sundaes. Guess what, they both had Hot Fudge...now since I am not allergic nor do I detest hot fudge I didn't really care - she even brought me a cup of caramel, although with the whipped cream it wasn't like I was going to pour it over. She also offered to get me another one but at that point we just wanted to finish and go home.

Well the waitress thought different. We waited about 15 minutes after we finished our sundaes to get our check. When she finally came by we grabbed it and ran to the cash register. WHAT? We have to wait for our waitress to cash us out??? Are you kidding me??!! Argh. Another 5 minutes the lady who was at the register yelled out back for our watiress not once but twice, she finally came by to cash us out but not before assisting another waitress with the register tape.

All in all we were at Friendly's for 2 hours...2 hours...I shit you not. Jesus Christ.

You Say it's your Birthday:

You say it's your birthday
It's my birthday too--yeah
They say it's your birthday
We're gonna have a good time
I'm glad it's your birthday
Happy birthday to you

Good Riddance:

PEDRO: SOX CAN KEEP RING
April 7, 2005 -- He left Boston as a World Series champion, but Pedro Martinez didn't leave on good terms. Still upset with how management handled his free-agent courtship, the new Mets ace gave the ultimate diss to the Red Sox yesterday.
"If they want to keep the (World Series) ring, that's fine," Martinez told the Boston Herald.
Boston general manager Theo Epstein seemed more saddened than annoyed by the latest comments from Martinez, who often perceives something or someone is against him.
"It's his ring," Epstein said. "He earned it.
"He was a huge part of putting us in that position and a huge part of winning the World Series. He earned it, he deserved it, so that's all the comment I have."
After leaving the Sox for a better financial offer and more years with the Mets, Martinez revealed he felt jilted during his introductory press conference at Shea Stadium.
In yesterday's Herald, Martinez sounded concerned the Red Sox smeared him for the purposes of spin control.

"I can live with the business part of it, not being able to afford me, or thinking I'm not that good, but I cannot understand the part where you mistreat my name, or mistreat what I did for the city of Boston because they have to build another image of me," Martinez said from Cincinnati.
Epstein believed he had a good relationship with Martinez and said the Red Sox have nothing but good things to say about the diminutive righty, who won 117 games in Boston from 1998-2004.
"He was a dominant guy here," Epstein said. "Our franchise would not be in the position it's in today without his contribution.
"He's a Hall of Famer and did most of that with the Red Sox. So he's got a heck of a legacy with us, that's for sure."

Story from New York Post

Good riddance Pedro. You are such a punk! Enjoy the rest of your career with one of the worst teams in baseball. Too bad you won’t get any wins since your new bullpen is so bad that Levitra turned them down for a new commercial to throw a baseball through a tire. Not quite as bad as Randy Moss but keep talking…

Goodbye Nikko - I voted for you:

I LOVE to sing - so I got sucked into the phenomenon that is American Idol. Well not anymore - American Idol is at it's worst season yet. I don't think I will be watching much anymore. Tuesday night was "Classic Showtunes" - I can't even begin to describe the horror. FX was showing Independence Day at the same time - so every time Paula began to speak I would watch Will Smith fight Aliens.

Paula's comments this season make me want to stick and ice picks in my ears. Here is my imitation of Paual: "Oh you sound great...Oh I love you...Oh you're such a star"

Here what I have to say to that....blech! I guess you know you really suck if she doesn't go GA GA over you. Usually then she tells the person that they look great. Wow!

Simon's comments (which usually right on) seem a little over the top this season. Like OK we like that he is the 'mean' judge so let him make up weird analogies and not say one nice thing about anyone.

Believe it or not - Randy "the DAWG" Jackson is the only judge who tells it like it is. Straight out "Yeah DAWG you were hot tonight" or "Dude that was horrible".

It seems as though all my favorites have been given the boot by America. Apparently America wants to watch Boy Band Wannabe Anthony Federov sing Climb Every Mountain - more like Climb Every Mountain and jump off the edge to put you out of your misery. How he has managed to escape elimination week after week is beyond me.

I don't know if it is the Genre's they have been picking for music or the lack of real talent that makes me change the channel for a show I once spent three nights a week making sure I could watch...but DUDE this is horrible!

April 6, 2005

Spoke to soon:

So my dream apartment in Philly is no more. The landlord decided he wanted to rent it May 1st - well we can't move until June - that wouldv'e meant an extra months rent for a place we couldn't live in - too much money - can't afford that. Maybe it is for the best - I bet that apartment has termites.

Look for more updates on this frustrating situation - another trip to Philly between now and June in the works. Which means more driving through NJ - at least we should have our EZ pass by then!

April 3, 2005

And one more thing:

Why did god create NJ? Was it to piss me off?

Here is one more reason why NJ sucks ass...

We were driving home - it was already going to be a long drive and so we get into NJ and what do we find? A flooded highway. That's right. We sat in traffic for over 45 minutes. It was pretty much moving at a snails pace - I could've walked faster. No signs or warnings explaining that we were about to drive through a friggin' river....GOD DAMN NJ.

It's Official!

We found an apartment in Philly! Whoo hoo! It was a soggy weekend - pouring rain on Saturday all day - not fun. Anyway - our new place is a bi-level two bedroom apartment off of South street! I am really excited and can't wait to move in. I will not miss anything about the upper valley!!

BTW: I have a washer and dryer!!!!!!!!!!!

The Garden State

So we arrived in Philly a little before 9pm. I was happy because we made it in time for the apprentice. I know right, I can't help it - I like bad TV it is a sickness. CD was just happy that I didn't make him watch ER with me because it was a repeat.

I digress...my rant this fine early friday morning is about the god damn Garden State. What is the deal with all the friggin' tolls?! One mile .35cent toll please, next mile .35cent toll please, I mean holy crap. And one more thing - why can't you people pump your own gas. What is the deal with that. By the time the guy came over to us I could have been done and on my way. But instead we had to sit and wait like 10 minutes. Damn you NJ.

I'm so Pretty!

Check me out! I am the new Mona Lisa - Pammy Lisa returns!

http://stacksofun.blogspot.com (brought to you and sponsered by The other Damn Blog)

Oh Brian how I missed you and the good old days - now we just need a sports illustrated swimsuit desk calendar and some funions!

Off to Philadelphia (and a new site for some)

So I am off to Philadelphia today - CD and I need a place to live when we move there in June. This is going to be an adventure - most places want someone to rent now - we don't want to rent until June but this is the only time we can take the eight hour drive from the middle of nowhere to Philly. Anyway - send us a happy thought and hope we find a place to live. I should have internet access so I will keep you posted.

On a sad note: I.A. couldn't take it anymore and jumped ship (Blogger has been acting funny as of late) look for him at http://iakhtar.tblog.com/ - I'll miss you buddy...tear.

Me: I don't think I am going anywhere - I am already moving to another city I can't handle two moves! Besides - I am not as internet and computer savvy as my good friend here so the gliches don't bother me. Hell I still use dial up....

CD = Dr. Evil

That is right and I mean it too. He is making me RUN!!!!

Arghhhhh! Well I guess I should be honest - it isn't like he is holding a gun to my head and I suppose it is good for me - and he is only looking out for my best interest. I told you my doctor wants me to lose 10lbs - but still - yesterday was our second day and I am in so much pain - I want to cry.

I WAS in pretty good shape last year - but I used the elliptical machines at the gym and that is not the same. I didn't renew my membership and now I am paying for it.

Enormous Omelet

"Wake up to a mouthful of breakfast with the Enormous Omelet Sandwich. Two slices of melted, American cheese, two fluffy eggs stuffed with three crispy strips of bacon, and a sizzling sausage patty, piled high on a toasted bun. The Enormous Omelet Sandwich from BURGER KING®. So big, breakfast will never be the same."

730 Calories - just for breakfast. It just sounds disgusting. You can check out the nutrition details here! The sad thing is that it will probably be extremely popular - I just can't imagine. I don't know what do you think?

My Addiction:

My brother David sucked me in and now I am addicted. I spent the afternoon playing Texas Hold 'Em. I learned all about the Flop, the Turn and the River and even though I lost my 5 bucks - it was my first time and I didn't lose the money all at once!

God help me when I move closer to Atlantic City!

Burnt my Tongue:

I burnt my tongue yesterday on a dunkin donuts hot chocolate. I think I will call Dennis O. Shillen and sue. I mean didn't some lady get like 100,000 bucks for spilling hot coffe on herself. I didn't expect it to be that hot when I took a sip.

March 26, 2005

It's REALLY over now...tear:

The formal separation has landed itself into DIVORCE COURT.

I know, I know - this is indeed a sad day for all of us - and as we reflect upon this news let me reasure you that life does go on. We will make it through this terrible experience.

OH COME ON!!! Why is this news??!! You know come monday morning this is all we will hear about on TV. Give me a break.

Why do you suppose GMA and the Today Show go into great detail over stories like this - like it is real news or something. I look forward to The Daily Show's take on all of this. Monday - Thursday on Comedy Central @ 11pm - Watch it!

Looking for a Job:

How does one go about looking for a job when one doesn't know what one wants to be when one grows up?

I am open to suggestions.

Where do they find these people?

I was watching TV this morning while getting ready for work and there was this commercial for the RING TWO and instead of showing a preview trailer for the movie they show clips of the movie and regular 'real' people raving about the movie - "Like, oh my god it was the scariest movie ever!"

Where do they find these people? My favorites are the 'chick flick' type movies or 'date movies' you know like The Notebook. They have a couple and the guy says it was a great date movie or something like that about how much he really like the movie. Right. That guy is just trying to impress his girl so he can get some later. Or just be on TV one of the two

Here is how one of those commercials would go if it were me and CD - not that I would never make CD watch a movie like this but if I did it would go like this:

Me: Oh, I laughed, I cried it was a wonderful movie

CD: Kill me, Kill me now - will someone kill me please. I would rather be tied up naked in the woods, lathered with honey and eaten alive by bears then have to sit through that piece of shit again. Someone please take a 12 gauge and put me out of my misery.

How about that for selling a movie!

You could insert any real guy into that comment above - well unless the guy is Brian...(Ah,I kid,I kid)
I don't know - what do you all think?

March 22, 2005

So I was on Shamus O'drunkahan's site - he's a funny guy...anyway I went to make a comment and was able to read the coments already posted. Someone who goes by the name Charlotte posted this webiste -check it out it's funny. You can post my blog webiste link and see what happens!

Needs no Explanation:

Florida Woman's Feeding Tube Removed

So this women in Florida had her feeding tube removed. She apparently has been brain dead for something like 15 years. I don't understand why she has been forced to live this long. Although I shouldn't say live - since she is bascially a vegtable. Got to love the republicans - Tom Delay is an F*cking moron.

"Terri Schiavo is alive ... She is as alive as you or I, and as such we have a moral obligation to protect and defend her from the fate premeditated by the Florida courts," DeLay said.

It would be one thing if the family were bearing the cost's to keep her alive, but they're not. I mean I don't want to sound cold hearted but she's pretty much dead anyway. If the parents want the feeding tube kept in - fine (well not really but that is a separate issue) - just send the bill to them and not to the taxpayers.

24

24 has become my new obsession. During yesterday's snow storm C and I decided to break out the season one DVD set (which I had gotten him two years ago). We don't normally watch this show but C had kinda got into the show at the end the second season. That year for his birthday I bought the Season One DVD set - so he could see what previously happened. Well to make a long story short - he just didn't have time to watch anymore and so we kinda forgot all about it. I decided since it was the only thing in our DVD collection that remained unwatched we should pop it in and we'll watch a couple episodes. Well 8 hours later - we are hooked. We aren't even at the half way point. Well I can't even watch right now because C abandoned me to go skiing today and I have been instructed not to watch with out him. So anyway I cna't speak for the show right now - but season one is really good!

BU Lost - those F*CKERS

God dammit. WTF?! It's Providence. Providence - I mean holy shit you would've been better off coming in third place so you could've played Northeastern. Jesus Christ.

C isn't that upset - I think he hit his head. Or he has become too obsessed with his new X-box game - Brothers in Arms. He has seriously not stopped playing. Me, I am clicking next blog and reading some pretty funny stuff. I came across one douchebag who has links to abortions. And calls liberals Evil - it amused me. I bet he is really gay but since he is from Texas he can't you know "come out" - hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

There isn't anything inspring me right now: Any ideas?

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart

I am a big fan of Jon Stewart and each night at 7:30 I watch his "fake" news program because hey it is better than the "real" news! Tonight (or I should say last night) he spent the first half talking about Martha Stewart's relase from prison. He basically poked fun of all the news pundits who have spent the last week discussing what Martha Stewart ate for breakfast. I haven't laughed so hard since I watched Napoleon Dynamite for the 5th time. For anyone who is interested the Daily Show it airs at 11:30 Monday - Thursday and repeated the following night at 7:30 (for those of us who can't stay up that late!) Jump on this band wagon it is worth the ride!

He's no Dane M. Shulman but:

Dennis O. Shillen hates to lose! Personal Injury Lawyer ad's on TV crack me up. Like this one from Dennis O. Shillen whose catch phrase is: "I don't get paid until we win - and I HATE to lose" I mean if I am ever injured on the job or in an accident I know who I am going to call. Someone who HATES to lose!

What are some catch phrases of the Personal Injury Lawyers in your neck of the woods?

Trot & Drew

The legend continues with the story of my two cats Trot and Drew (white chin). AWWWWWWWWWWWWW - aren't they so cute! We have had them for about 2-1/2 years now. Trot was named for none other than the almighty right fielder Trot Nixon of the Boston Red Sox (Go SOX!) and Drew was named for the x-Patriot & future Cowboy QB Drew Bledsoe. DRRRREEEEWWWWWW! Well we like him anyway! We have decided that our cats our psychotic. Trot will run around the aprtment meowing at nothing (unless I suppose we have ghosts) and Drew likes to stick his head through the handles of plastic bags (like the ones from Shaw's) and lick them (as if they were coated with Acid or something). They are also dumb. Even though we took the time to name them - we could theoretically refer to them as Crap Bag and Little Shit - I know they wouldn't know the difference. But despite the fact they are probably the dumbest cats we know they are still the best and we love 'em!

A Measure of Will Power:

So C and I went to the supermarket this morning due to the fact we had no food in the house and as I walked into the supermarket there were girl Scouts - selling girl Scout cookies. Well lucky for me C is cheap so I didn't even have to worry about convincing myself not to buy them since he already said NO! But then we walked out of the supermarket and the sweet smell of glazed doughnuts filled the air from the Dunks across the way. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Donuts. It took every ounce of will power I have to not go in and get a donut. Although that meant I couldn't have my Iced Coffee that I get every Saturday since the temptation for donuts would have increased. Damn you Glazed Donuts.

Perfect Eyesight

So last week I got new glasses and no one noticed. I guess to be fair I don't always wear them but they are different - they are more square shapped and my old ones were circular shaped. Thursday I go back for a follow up to have my retna checked out. I love technology. In the 'old' days they would put drops in your eyes to dialate them which takes like an hour - then you're forced to wear these stupid plastic sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun. Now they have this machine that does all that no drops and it will take about 10 minutes! Yippy!

I got the Part!!!

A little known fact about me is I love to sing! I sing all the time - I pretty much never stop! I am currently singing in a student run A Capella group associated with C's medical school. We are the Dermatones! Ha get it Dermatones. Don't worry I don't get it either - it is a pun for Dermatome which is a nerve distribution or something - I had to ask C.

We sing for nursing homes, DMS functions and each spring we have a charity concert where we raise money for a local charity. Since it is student run we have a lot of fun and we pick and arrange our own music. Not me - I am only vocally talented. Tuesday we held auditions for some of the songs we'll be singing this spring and I got the solo I wanted!! Anyone in the Hanover area on May 8th at about 5pm come and hear us - we're pretty good!!! Plus it'll be for a good cause! Tra la la la

Two Weeks Left:

So we have hit the two week marker! This will probably be the only thing on my mind until then.

On a different note: C and I watched the movie SAW last night. How freaky. It wasn't a scary movie that makes you jump - but instead it is more creepy and disturbing. I find as far as scary movies are concerned I like that style better. It is definitely worth seeing.

Bored, Bored, Bored....

I am bored. What else is new. I don't feel good either - so not only am I bored but I don't have the energy to entertain myself. Oh the dilemma.

What do you do when you are bored?

Stress and Ilness:

So I am all stressed out. I am not sleeping at night and really think I am about to explode.

Destiny Fulfilled!

How do they do it? I mean sell albums with lyrics like this?
Lyrics to Lose My Breath:
Can you keep up?
Baby boy
Make me lose my breath
Bring the noise
Make me lose my breath
Hit me hard
Make me lose my ahhh ahhh

There new song Soldier - I just don't know:
I need a soldier
That ain't scared to stand up for me
Normally carry big things
If you know what I mean
If his status ain't hood
I ain't checkin' for him
Better be street if he looking at me
I need a soldier

Am I missing something? How do they do it??!!

Drugs are bad...Mmm Kay

C is studying for his Clinical Pharmacology test right now. He is learning about all the drugs he will one day get to prescribe to all y'all. In about three months he will be able to write any prescription for any drug imaginable. Dr.'s notes included. Eric V has already requested his note for Fibromyalgia. What fake disease would you like a note for - Make your best offer - I will put forth the requests.

Sean Penn = Giant Douche?

Question? When did Sean Penn become such a douchebag? I don't think he knows how to take a joke. I watched the Academy Awards last night to see Chris Rock's opening bit (which was awesome by the way). Chris Rock made some jokes at Jude Law's expense and apparently Sean Penn felt hurt by those jokes or something becuase he had to address it much later on in the show when he was on stage to present an award. Puh-lease. It was a joke. A funny one too I might add. He also had a run in with South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone over this past years election. Yes, Sean your famous and yes, you have a crap load of money and yes you usually make good movies - but seriously get a life.

It's no Shrek

Dreamworks after the success of Shrek - came out with A Shark's Tale. I thought it was cute but definitly no Shrek. I was able to rent it for free so I don't feel cheated. I would have been extremly disapointed had I gone to the theater.

I HATE Huckabees

I don't know - it was weird. I think I feel asleep. I didn't get it. It was bad. I just didn't feel it. Personally I wouldn't waste your time. I really hate it when I get sucked into movies becuase of the cast. Yet I do it all the time and usually I am disappointed. Some examples:

(1) About Schmidt - Jack Nicholson, Kathie Bates

(2) Adaptation - Nicholas Cage

(3) Magnolia - Tom Cruise, Julianne Moore, William H. Macy

(4) The Royal Tenenbaums - Gene Hackman, Gwenyth Paltrow, Ben Stiller, Anjelica Houston

Am I missing any?

Feeling down today - C watches TV

I am very bored...I have nothing to post...C is watching Glory and we are waiting to go to my nephew's 5th birthday party. Wow he will be 5 on tuesday March 1st. I can't believe it. I am hungry too. I hope the pizza is good. I hope to have some good pictures. I guess we are going now - need to buy a present. Catch you on the flip side.

The wait is killing me:

So the rank list was due on Wednesday at 9:00pm. So why do we have to wait 19 more days to find out. I am not going to be able to take much more of this. Waiting, waiting, waiting...

Where will we be in four months...?

My Personal Hell

I started to do some thinking as of late about what it will be like when I do go to hell. Below are some of the things you would find in my hell.

(1) A 60" Plasma screen TV that shows nothing but Fox News for eternity. It would be Hannity and Colmes and Bill O'Riley forever and ever and ever and ever

(2) The only movies would be The Thin Red Line, The Apostle, French Kiss, The Astronauts Wife and any movie on Lifetime for Women.

(3) The "Voice" of Terrier Hockey would sing the National Anthem over and over until I wanted to stick screw driver through my ear drums except there are no screw drivers.

(4) John Madden, Joe Buck and Dick Vitale would be my neighbors so I would hear "Yeah Baby", "Derek Jeter is God" and "The key to winning this game is to score more points than the other team"

(5) The Devil would be George W. Bush. No explanation needed!

This is what hell is. What are some things you think will be in hell?

Pee in the Snow!

So it is early in the morning. I woke up way before my alarm and thought I would make some early morning posts:

The Doc and the Lawyer

So I posted this on I.A.'s blog today and it seemed to amuse him so I thought I would go ahead and post it here: Enjoy!

A doctor and a lawyer in two separate cars collided on a country road. The lawyer, seeing that the doctor was a little shaken up, helped him from the car and offered him a drink from his hip flask.
The doctor accepted and handed the flask back to the lawyer, who closed it and put it away.
"Aren't you goign to have a drink yourself?" asked the Doctor.
"Sure, right after the police leave," replied the attorney.

The Legend Continues some more:

I know I left you hanging for a while - thirsty for more knowledge about me. Well you can stop crying becasue the ledgend goes on:

My favorite Show is: Scrubs (I would marry Zach Braff if I were not already married and he wasn't dating Mandy Moore - oh she is so lucky!)

My secret dream is to someday sing the National Anthem at Fenway Park

I am a sports nut - well Football and Baseball mostly (and mostly football). Sometimes C thinks I am a little too fanatic about my football but then I polietly remind him that other wives wouldn't spend all day watching football - they'd be watching Trash for Women. Yes Sunday in the Wicks household means FOOTBALL!!! All day long! I am already going through withdrawals.

I have two cats - they are brothers and C and I named them Trot (after Red Sox outfielder Trot Nixon) and Drew (after ex-Patriot - soon to be Dallas QB Drew Bledsoe). They are probably the dumbest cats I have ever known but they are so cute you can't help but love them.

This blog has pretty much saved my life - My brain was quickly turning into mush due to extreme boredom. I know I am not nearly as funny as I.A. is but I try real hard and shouldn't that count for something - so even if you don't think I am funny - laugh anyway - it will make me feel good!

In Jesus Name I Pray

The Rapture: When all the believers in Jesus Christ, who have been born again, are taken up to heaven.

So when this happens how will us "non-believers" know where everyone went. The answer is in this website:

Thank goodness for this website because I wasn't sure how I was going to let everyone know that the reason I vanished was because I went to Heaven. Oh yeah right...I am pretty sure I have a first to class ticket to Hell. However, for those of you who are 'better' than rest of us and plan on 'vanishing' please make sure you fill out one of these letters so I know where you are.

Poor Paris

So someone was able to hack into Paris Hilton's T-Mobile phone and get all her personal information. I would love that number so I can call her and tell her how sad her life is. I can't believe people actually watch her show. I watch a lot of FOX programs so I am subjected to commercials that feature her new show The Simple Life: Interns. It is sad commentary on the state of our country that we put two girls on a pedestal that have no skills, that are totally incompetent at everything they do and the only reason that natural selection hasn't gotten them is their Daddy's are rich.

The Fat Ductch Kid...

Click on this link: http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/lyle_24/myhero.html

I promise you won't be sorry - make sure you have speakers on. This link has become a hit over the past week. It was on the GMA the other day. If you have any insight I would love to hear it.

I came across this actual clip from a random blog I happend upon. He he he!

Dick Vitale

Has to be one of the most annoying sports announcers in the history of sports announcers. I don't even like basketball all that much but C likes to watch college hoops once in a while and that leaves me stuck listening to Dick Vitale. I don't know if it is the voice or what but shoot me, just shoot me. Sensational BABY!

Question - Who is more annoying?

  • Dick Vitale
  • John Madden

Daytona....Daytona!

Remember that game? I think it was a game for the Sega Genesis but I don't know and C thinks I am wrong? Anyway...not the point of this posting.

NASCAR. I don't think I will ever understand the obsession that is NASCAR. If you live in the woods like me, everyone is obsessed with it. They have parties and get togethers and discuss it at work like the rest of us real people talk about the Sox or the Patriots. And everyone is a Dale Jr. fan # - hmmmm I don't really care enough to look up his # so we'll just call him #10. Everyone wears Dale, Jr. #10 hats, bumper stickers with #10 you know what I mean. I see this #10 everywhere up here.

I don't get it. I really don't get it. This phenomenon is just...I don't know. Get me out of this NASCAR - BUSH LOVIN' HELL HOLE THEY CALL THE UPPER VALLEY!!!

Please if someone can explain it to me....but I mean watching cars go round and round for like three hours....

I love food....I can't help it.

C went skiing today and I sat at home watching the documentry Super Size Me. Made me feel even more like a heffer than I already do. I don't know - I like food. I hardly ever eat fast food, but I do like to eat and I do not usually control my portion sizes like I should. I don't excersize like I used to and I can't wait to move back to the city so I can walk more. The doctor told me my BMI is too high....what is a girl to do. If this documentry taught me anything it's don't drink your calories (which I don't cuz all yall know I drink only Diet Pepsi) and portion size. Less is more. I will let you know how I do. Really my problem stems from my laziness and lack of motivation when I come home to cook real food. C and I order out way too much. Bye Bye Ramunto's Garlic Knot Pizza - the doctor says I'm too fat.

A Movie Review of:

Paparazzi a not so great movie...so why did I bother to rent it? Well I had a coupon where I could rent three movies for .99 cents a piece. I figured for a buck I would give it a shot. The moral of the story is: You can get away with murder just so long as your famous and your killing scumbags who take your picture when you asked them very politely not to. My review in three words or less: DON'T BOTHER.

Low Rider

When most people think Low Rider they think of that song by War. However, when I think of Low Rider I think of the stupid chair that C refuses to get rid of. I am not sure the picture does it justice but let me explain. C named this chiar the low rider when the base broke off. Normal people would put the chair in the dumpster...but not my C. He won't. I don't get it. It isn't comfortable to sit in and it is just taking up space. I HATE the Low Rider!

Cumming all Over

Link to this page

I think that this picture speaks for itself. C and I were watching the daily show and actor Alan Cumming was the guest. You may recognize him from his roles as Sandy Finks in Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion, Nightcrawler in X2: X-Men Unite, and his latest role as Locke in Son of the Mask. Well he has decided to come out with a fragrance I mean hey it worked for J-Lo right. Well Jon Stewart couldn't get past the name and had to ask why. He said it was his revenge. I have to say we laughed the hardest when he discused the future line of body wash "Cumming all Over". I kid you not, click on the picture for more information!

My Friends Went to Iraq to find WMD's and...

All they found was this lousy T-shirt. Hehehehe! I found this pretty cool website by accident. You can by humorous t-shirts and bumpers stickers as seen here. They have other things too like mugs and magnets. Check it out.

Desperate Housewives

So in my previous post I commented on the fact tha GMA has become the 'Ode to Desperate Housewives'. So ABC finally gets a hit show and what do they do...exploit it and milk it for all it is worth. I have never watched the show but know everything about it because every day on GMA there is a story on the actresses or the plot or someone died on the last episode...WTF??!! I am just so sick to death of hearing about it that it makes me not want to watch ever. I am sure it is a good show but come on...

Not just bred for it's skills in magic...

It is REAL!!! No joke. I was watching Good Morning America (AKA Ode to Desperate Housewives - another subject for another time) this morning and they brought on a LIGER. And all this time I thought it was like a magical creature. I had to leave for work so I didn't actually see this Liger perform any skills. Maybe someday I could pet a Liger. It's pretty much my favorite animal.

Step-II

Today C is in Burlington, VT taking Step-II of the Medical Boards. Send him a happy thought. Thankfully it is not as intense as Step-I. Good Luck!!!

Manamana!

A commercial for the new Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper had me thinking of a good friend. Stack used to go around 500 Park Drive singing this song....I wish I could write it out here but the ba ba ba da's wouldn't make sense unless you knew the tune. MA-NA-MA-NA! If you have seen the commercial you know the song. It has a guy and a girl on a dinner date and the waiter brings here a new Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper and she spaces out and hears this song I know speak of.

The Legend Continues:

Ah yes, I shall continue the legend that is ME! Below are five interesting facts about me.

(1) My favorite color is Yellow

(2) If I could eat only one thing for the rest of my life it would be Ramunto's Garlic Knot Pizza. It will be one of the few things I will miss about the Upper Valley.

(3) I have over the recent months become a big fan of Indian and Mexican foods.

(4) I am 25 years old and have three gray hairs. I fear that if I pull them out three more will grow back.

(5) I love to sing. I love to sing in the shower, in the car, at the dinner table, before I go to sleep, all of the time.

So there you have it, some interesting facts about me. Don't you just feel better now for knowing that! Feel free to tell me about yourself in the comment section...it will give me something to read!

The Punisher

So since I am so good at the comic book thing, C and I rented The Punisher. I thought the movie was pretty good. I do think it is a little weird that Marvel made a comic book with a hero who has no super powers. I wonder how well the comic did in comparison to say Superman or Batman.

Thoughts?

I had the cake and ate it too!

So saw the finished product, and I should clarify that the picture below is not the actual cake but a pretty picture to make my post look more exciting. I should have a picture of the actual cake soon. Sorry for any confusion.

The cake was delicious. It was a lemon cake with a pistachio crunch frosting. Yummy! You done good Benny, really good!

February 12, 2005

On a lighter note

Today I spent three hours helping Benny bake a cake for his sweetheart. Her birhtday is tomorrow and this is the mother of all birthday cakes. Even though he got some help on this cake from C and I - he still spent a great deal of time on this...I don't even get a store bought cake from C. Tomorrow we shall see the finished product. Yummy. Here is to a very happy birthday Robyn!

Princess Sophia gets Political

Forgive me for a minute but I need to get something off my chest. This is something that has been frustrating me for a long time. When did the church become a cult of crazy people. I grew up a Catholic (although I am very much so NON-practicing) and went to church every sunday with my dad. I don't remember it being as bad as it seems now. Althought there was this one time when I freaked out my CCD teacher when I told her that abortion wasn't murder. It was as if I took out a gun and opened fire.

Why are you Jesus Freaks so crazy and intollerant of other people. Why do you all have the right to tell women what they can and cannot do with their bodies. Why do you all have the right to tell two people that they can't have the same rights that I have with my husband just because they're partner is of the same sex. I guess I didn't realize that they were mutants or somehow not human. It seems that these days if you have not accepted Christ Jesus into your heart that somehow you're immoral. As Benny and I discussed this afternoon...what happened to Love thy neighbor?

Anyway....C is getting tired of listening to my rants on religion so I am using my blog to vent my frustrations...please disgreagard this post if you do not care.

And the Winner is...Wales...Oh Shit!

"Link to this pageA Welsh rugby fan cut off his own testicles to celebrate Wales beating England at rugby, the Daily Mirror reported on Tuesday."
What some people will do for the love of the game. Some dude was apparently so convinced that England would win he said he would cut off his own testicles...I mean a lot of guys say that they would give their left nut for a victory but this guy actually followed through.

Yes you read that correctly - the dude cut off his testicles. Oh for the love of the game.

Go Get 'em Tiger...

So C and I just finished watching the second Spider Man for the first time since we saw it in the theater. I forgot how cheesy the ending was. "Go get 'em tiger" are you kidding me.
Don't get me wrong it is a fantastically done movie. It has some of the coolest special effects and I can even forgive the sappy inner dialogues but when MJ tells Peter to "Go get 'em tiger" at the end it just kills it for me. I wonder is it just me?

COKE OR PEPSI?

Anyone who knows me knows about my obsession with Diet Pepsi and those of you who know I.A. know of his obsession with Coke. Which one are you?

Commercial Disaster

Was it just me or were this years Superbowl commericals really LAME?
There were maybe two commercials the whole night that made me laugh out loud.

(1) The Ameriquest Commerical with the boyfriend cooking dinner and the cat spilling the sauce - girlfriend enters to boyfriend holding cat with a knife in his hand. Moral of the story - Don't judge too quickly.
(2) The Careerbuilder.com commericals were also good especially the one with the whoopi cushion and all the monkey's laughing.

And oh my god - What happened to Budweiser??!! They're supposed to be the king of beers - they used to make good commercials - what's the deal with all the serious crap. Anheuser-Busch you get the award for lamest commercials of all time. Even the quasi-funny Bud-light commercials can't make up for it. Sorry you lose.

What? C Lost his Wedding Ring in the Snow You Say?

Yes that's right my C LOST his wedding ring in the snow today while playing snow football....

hmmmmmm. Does that mean I can get a new ring too and we can have a whole new wedding??!! Excellent!

The Legend of Princess Sophia

Well I suppose now is a good a time as any to begin the story behind the LEGEND of Me!

First off I should probably explain Princess Sophia. I mean why call myself Princess Sophia when my real name is Pam? That is a good questions - and I hope you all realize (beisdes the fact that I named my blog 'legend of me') I am not that conceited to make people refer to me as Princess Sophia...although I probably should. I also did not come up with the name myself. That was given to me by my sister. She called herself Cinderella (apparently she felt that whenever I visited home - mom had her do chores and such to make sure the place was nice and clean upon my arrival) and I was the Princess. Where Sophia came from I will never know. Thus the name Princess Sophia.

The Legend continues...

Enjoy a Bowl of Chicken Soup with a Ruben...

What are some of your favorite lines from a silly movie? Below are some of mine:

Harold and Kumar go to White Castle
Harold: Did Doogie Howser just steal my f*cking car?
Kumar: Yes... I think he did.
Harold: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Napoleon Dynamite
Napoleon Dynamite: You know, there's like a butt-load of gangs at this school. This one gang kept wanting me to join because I'm pretty good with a bowstaff.

Half Baked
Scarface: F*ck you, f*ck you, f*ck you, you're cool, and f*ck you, I'm out!

I'm Wicked Smaht!

I did it! I'm wicked smaht! Check out my new features!

The legend continues....

It just doesn't get old!

C and I watched game 4 of the ALCS last night (they are showing the series on NECN) and even though we know what happens, it still makes us smile. We just look at each other and smile! We smile when Jeter strikes out and when Dave Roberts steels second base so Billy Mueller can hit him home to tie up the game. Even though we know they will go on to win the game in the 12th inning...I can watch that home run by Big Papi over and over again! Still smiling every time! I wonder why that is? Is it the same for anyone whose team wins the big one? Or is it because I waited 25 years for it to happen (I know it was a lot longer for other people)? Thank God I am too young to remember the pain of 1986.

A Little Light Humor!

The second installment from my NURSES calendar from work: Paraphrased

A husband and wife go to the doctor's office. They are there for the wife to get checked out. After the doctor finished his examination the couple remained in the office. A nurse went in to see what was the matter and noticed the husband's confused look.

"What's wrong?" asked the nurse.
"Well, I don't think the doctor know's what he's talking about," the husband said.
"Oh really?" replied the nurse
"Yeah, he said my wife as acute angina. And I've seen it!"

Get it, 'acute angina'...HAHAHAHAHAHA...HEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!!! That is a knee slapper...that is some funny stuff in my nurses calendar.

The "I am not sure" Movie Review

I have not really put any movie reviews on this blog other than to tell you how much I loved Napoleon Dynamite. So with out furthur ado here is the first installment of movie reviews. This one is the "I am not sure what I think" Movie review of LOST IN TRANSLATION a Sophia Coppola film, nominated for many academy awards last March.

This film takes place in Japan and stars Bill Murray as a washed up actor from the US who is a big star in Japan (kinda like today's version of David Hasselhoff and Germany). He has been hired to endorse a Japanese Whiskey and seems to be having a mid-life crisis (same old stuff - married with children - but lacking in love). Enter Scarlet Johansson's character, a young newlywed who is spending time in Japan while her work-aholic photographer husband (played by Frank, Jr. aka Giovanni Ribisi) is taking pictures of some band. The plot of the movie in a nutshell is these two characters meet in a bar by chance and form some sort of warped friendship/I couldn't tell if it was to be more sort of relationship. The movie ends when he has to go back home to the states to be with his family and how sad they both are that this 'chance encounter' has to come to an end. But they both know deep down that the one week they spent together will have a lasting impact.

So why am I not sure about this movie, well for one thing I didn't laugh like the critics told me I would. Here's the thing, I didn't hate it but I am not sure if I really liked it either. I just don't know. I sometimes get that feeling when watching these so called critically acclaimed 'artsy' fims. Does that make sense? I am curious if anyone out there has seen this film and would like to enlighten me, and if you havn't seen it then I'm not sure that I would recommend you do. I suppose if your in the mood for an artsy film it would be a good one. I don't know maybe I just didn't get it.

A 'Very Special' Blog Posting...

Why is it that every time sweeps comes along we get "A very special all new episode of ---fill in the blank----" or "An all new exicting intense ---- fill in the blank----" Is that supposed to make us want to watch the shows more?!

Each week I watch the Apprentice and each week they show scenes from next weeks episode and each week I hear "and you WON'T believe what goes on in the board room". That's what you told me last week. I thought I already saw the most intense boardroom...how can this week be the most intense??!!
